The 2.6 Challenge helping to support our schools in Uganda
The coronavirus crisis in Uganda has forced schools to close, head teachers are trying to figure out how to pay their bills and staff members, while families face hardship like never before as they struggle to put food on the table in these most desperate of times. The schools we continue to support in Uganda have never needed Project le Monde quite as much as they do now – and here’s how you can help.
We’re inviting you, your family and friends to take part in The 2.6 Challenge. The 2.6 Challenge launches on Sunday, April 26th. That should have been the day of the London Marathon, one of the biggest charity fund-raising events in the world but, like so many others, it won’t be taking place this year.
We’re asking you to take part in an activity of your choice based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and fundraise or donate to support Project Le Monde via our Just Giving page. It could be anything, from doing 26 press-ups, running around your garden for 2.6 miles, scoring 26 on a dart board 26 times. Just let your imagination run riot!
The only requirement is that you must follow the Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing.
There are just four simple steps to take:
1. Dream up your 2.6 challenge – if you need help there are lots of ideas here
2. Head to Project Le Monde's Just Giving page to donate whatever you can afford
3. Ask friends and family to sponsor you or come up with their own Challenge for Project Le Monde
4. Share a photo or video of your challenge on social media with #TwoPointSixChallenge and tag us on Facebook and Instagram.
And don’t worry if you haven’t got anything lined up for April 26th and fear you’ve missed the boat. You can do your activity whenever you want.
We hope you’ll join the 2.6 Challenge to support Project Le Monde and save our schools in Uganda.
