Snowdon climb raises funds for new library
What an achievement! Children and parents from St Mary’s in Twickenham successfully scaled Snowdon and in doing so raised £2,000, half of which will pay for the new library at Joy Nursery and Primary School. The money raised by the group will go towards converting a classroom area into a library, complete with shelving, glass for the windows and books.
Project Le Monde CEO Anne Lotter says: “This was a really fun event which was accessible for all ages and a range of abilities of walker. It is definitely an event we will look to run again next year.
“The money raised goes a long way in Uganda and will fund a really nice area at Joy Nursery and Primary where children can simply enjoy reading, something we take for granted here in the UK but which is a real luxury in Ugandan schools.
“Thanks again to St Mary’s, both children and parents - I know your help will be gratefully received.”
